Regardless of our backgrounds and cultures, we are a group of nondenominational Christians who come together every Sunday to worship, sing songs of praise to Godand obey the teachings of the Scriptures.
Our Worship service consists of prayers, acapella singing, the Lord's Supper, Giving and asermon.
During worship, we sing in a-cappella. A-cappella means to sing without any musical instruments. In the bible, singing was seen to be of significance in the New Testament. (Eph 5:19) In Acts 16:25, Paul and Silas were "singing hymns to God" when they were thrown into prison. God also instructs us to "sing psalms,hymns and spiritual songs with thanksgiving in your hearts" (Col 3:16).
On the first day of every week, we partake of the Lord's Supper (Acts 20:7). The Lord's Supper is a memorial where we come together to in remembrance of Jesus' death on the cross and what he has done for us. During the Lord's Supper, we will break the bread and drink the fruit of the vine. (1 Cor 11: 23-25) By partaking of the Lord's Supper, we are "proclaiming the Lord's death till he comes" (1 Cor 11:26).
The Lord's Supper is commonly misunderstood for paying the price for our sins. However, 1 John 1:7-9 states that in order to repent of our sins, we are to pray,confess and be baptized in order to be cleansed from all our sins.
1 Cor 11:28 instructs us to "examine himself and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup". In Corinth, the Lord's Supper was used merely as a meal. The members were coming in hungry and drunk bringing judgement onto themselves. (1 Cor 11:20-22,27,29). Therefore, it is important that we set our minds and hearts on Jesus' death during the Lord's Supper.
